I ordered it on Friday and now I have it.
The first thing that I looked for is a country, where my Sony R1 was made.
And this was a good surprise for me. The camera was made in Japan and not in China or Malaysia.
The second good surprise was an EVF (Electronic View-Finder). It is a very useful feature.
There are some things that I find not good. The quality of case could be better and video-recording feature is absent. Actually, I don’t need video recording functionality, but if I pay so much money, I would like to have all functions of modern digital cameras.
I will soon public my photos here, but at first I would like to get similar with R1. This is my first camera of that class, that’s why I must spend a little time to understand how it works

Great Great Camera!
and how much you have paid?
A very capable camera but too expensive to build.
I have it too and I love to use it, I’ve shot over 2,000 shots
WOW! What a great camera, the screen is super!
Overall excellent camera. Nice handling, good weight and compares well with dSLRs in terms of images
Buy a camera from a company with a history in the business such as Cannon or Nikon.
It’s still a pretty high end camera.
Hi Ray,
say what you will about sony cams (and i will agree with you), but this is a revolutionary camera with a revolutionary sensor, and it spells the beginning of the end for DSLR’s.
Brian +1
“Carl Zeiss T* lens, mechanically linked zoom ring, first all-in-one with APS-C size sensor” – WOW!
And I bet the price will be just as massive. At first I thought the R1 was cool, but it’s way too expensive.
too expensive
I like it, I love it.
The number one reason why I wouldn’t ever consider this camera is the Electronic View Finder.
Wow! I like it!
Great! Super camera
on my wish-list!
Super!!!
